* WNA Speaker Directory
The WNA Speaker Directory was a creation of the Nursing Education Council.  More information …There is a large volume of nursing knowledge and expertise represented among WNA members. If you would like to share with others your passion on a nursing or health care issue, the Wisconsin Nurses Association (WNA) Speaker Directory is a good place to turn. Twenty categories of topics are listed in the WNA Directory. From palliative care to public policy and from evidence-based practice to wellness, this is a great opportunity to give voice to issues that we are passionate about.

 It takes less than 5 minutes to register as a speaker in the WNA Speaker Directory. You respond to questions about your contact information, and it's optional to list a speaker fee. Members and non-members can search the directory for potential presenters.  Click here to access the Directory.

* Educational Advancement for Registered Nurses

In response to a reference passed at the WNA Annual Meeting in 2008, #4 – Educational Advancement for Registered Nurses (for reference Recommendations, click here), the Nursing Education Council conducted a literature search for articles/publications that supported the reference Recommendations.  Click here for a list of articles identified by the Nursing Education Council which identify the benefits of a more highly educated nursing workforce.

 Upcoming Projects:

* WNA, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Environmental Health Nursing Coalition (WEHNC), will sponsor an environmental health nursing advocacy summit by partnering with the Iowa Nurses Association, Winona State College of Nursing in Minnesota, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Nursing, and the American Nurses Association.  The purpose of the summit is to:

1) embrace a conceptual framework/operational definition of nurse advocacy;
2) target three specific environmental health advocacy issues, and
3) collectively develop strategies that can be implements across three states – Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

The expected outcome is that by working collaboratively and sharing responsibilities for the implementation of an agreed upon plan, more nurses from across the three states will appreciate and become engaged in the promotion of good environmental health practices.  The summit will utilize the American Nurses Association “Green Meetings” guideline.  WNA will coordinate and offer contact hours for this conference.   Please contact Gina Dennik-Champion, WNA Executive Director, with questions.
