50/50 RETURNS FOR ANOTHER YEAR!
The Nurses Foundation of Wisconsin raffle tradition will continue with the 50/50 raffle at this year's Convention and Annual Meeting. Bring your fives and get six chances! The more we sell...the bigger the pot!

Awards - WNA will recognize outstanding nursing leaders at the 2012 Annual Meeting, including the latest recipients of the Signe Cooper Image of Nursing Award, Vivien DeBack Leadership Award, and the Norma Lang Excellence in Nursing Research Award. Thank you to all who have submitted nominees for these prestigious awards.

Elections - Voting for 2012 WNA Leadership positions took place from September 1 - 22, 2012. Winners will be announced at WNA Convention.

Florence Nightingale Tribute - Each year at Convention, we pay tribute to fellow nurses who have passed away. If you know of a nurse that has passed away since October 2011, please email their name and their city to joe@wisconsinnurses.org , or call 608-221-0383 x.11.   For the tribute, it does not matter if the nurse held an active membership with WNA - once a nurse, always a nurse.

Annual Meeting Times - WNA's Annual Meeting will be held Thursday, October 19 from 7:00-9pm and Friday, October 20 from 1-2:30pm.

Posters - We are very excited to have two poster sessions at Convention! We will be releasing the presenters and topics in upcoming publications.
  • WNA Research Council Poster Session
The WNA Research Council will display innovative projects and research from nurses across the state. The interactive poster session provides attendees with an opportunity to network with clinicians and researchers sharing their latest clinical practice innovations and nursing research findings. Posters will cover a variety of clinically relevant topics and will be available for viewing throughout the day on Friday, October 19.  Research Council Poster Session award winners will be announced on Saturday, October 20, during Brunch.
  • WEHNC Poster Session
The Wisconsin Environmental Health Nursing Coalition (WEHNC) will present educational displays relevant to practicing nurses.
Attendees may interact with the presenters to discuss environmental issues and learn more about applications to the nursing professional.
The uniqueness of these presentations is that each educational display and related materials will be posted on the WNA website to be used by nurses to educate their staff, colleagues, student nurses, or peers.
WINPAC - Friday night is the Wisconsin Nurses Political Action Committee's (WINPAC) Silent Auction and Team Trivia. Satisfy your sweet tooth with WINPAC's Supreme Court Sundae Bar.  Relax after the day's events with WINPAC's Congressional Cash Bar. Then get ready to bid high and bid often in our silent auction! This year, WINPAC is focusing its efforts on voter education and getting out the vote. Gather your friends and form a team to see if you can conquer the leaderboard with fun trivia questions about politics, history, pop culture, nursing, and more! Hosted by WNA Member Services Coordinator Joe Vande Slunt and many special guests; this is a caucus that can't be missed!
