Wisconsin Parish Nurse Coalition

The Wisconsin Parish Nurse Coalition (WPNC) formed as a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Wisconsin Nurses Association (WNA) in 1999.

Who Can Belong?
WPNC Membership is open to WNA members who are practicing Parish Nurses or interested in parish nursing, an emerging specialty.  WPNC members can run for office and vote. WPNC Friends are nurses or others interested in parish nursing but are not WNA members. WPNC Friends are encouraged to interact with this group.

Mission
The WPNC will communicate a caring presence - locally, regionally, and statewide - while preserving, supporting, and advancing the professional practice of parish nursing.

Vision
The WPNC unites and nurtures the professional development and practice of parish nursing within Wisconsin.

Goals
1. Facilitate connections between Parish Nurses thorughout the state;
2. Promote high standards of practice among Parish Nurses;
3. Support collaboration/cooperation between and among Parish Nurses and other nursing colleagues;
4. Provide a vehicle for communication of issues, education, and concerns of interest to Parish Nurses throughout the state.

WPNC Leadership
WPNC's leadership team ensures the coalition has processes that are dynamic and flexible to needs of its membership and provides direction in meeting the goals of the coalition.

Elected leadership for the WPNC Steering Committee includes the:

  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Chairperson of the Conference Planning Committee
  • Chairperson  of the Educational Programming Committee
  • Chairperson of the Communication & Publication Committee
  • Chairperson of the Nominations Committee
  • Professional Development Committee
