| WNA 2007 Proposed Bylaws Changes - Closes 10/12/07
WNA 2007 PROPOSED BYLAWS CHANGES Submitted by WNA Bylaws Committee These are the proposed WNA Bylaws changes submitted by the WNA Bylaws Committee. This section of the Discussion Forum is available for you, the WNA member, to provide comment or questions. This discussion forum will be monitored on a regular basis. The last day for submitting comments will be Friday, October 12, 2007. The Bylaws will be formally presented for member debate and approval at the Friday, October 19, 2007 Annual Meeting in La Crosse. The current WNA Bylaws are also posted for your review, if necessary, along with other background materials. Summary of the proposed WNA Bylaws Changes are based on the following themes. 1. Includes and clarifies WNA’s relationship with the Center for American Nurses. 2. Further clarifies the mechanism needed for the President to call for a meeting of the membership. 3. Powers of the Executive Committee are restructured in that the transaction of business between meetings of the Board of Directors can occur if there are 6 non-officer members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. These amendments also include clarification of the role of other officers. Discussion Thread 1. Bylaws address WNA’s relationship with the Center. 2. The WNA Reference Committee is requesting your review and feedback on these proposed References. This discussion forum will be monitored on a regular basis. The last day for submitting comments will be Friday, October 12, 2007. The WNA Reference Committee reviewed and is forwarding four Reference Proposals to the WNA membership for their consideration at the 2007 WNA Annual Meeting. The meeting is scheduled for Friday October 19, 2007 as part of the WNA/WSNA Annual Convention that will be held in La Crosse.
