WNA Speaker Directory

Welcome to the WNA Speaker Directory!

There is a large volume of nursing knowledge and expertise represented among WNA members. If you would like to share with others your passion on a nursing or health care issue, the Wisconsin Nurses Association (WNA) Speaker Directory is a good place to turn. Twenty categories of topics are listed in the WNA Directory. From palliative care to public policy and from evidence-based practice to wellness, this is a great opportunity to give voice to issues that we are passionate about.

It takes less than 5 minutes to register as a speaker in the WNA Speaker Directory. You respond to questions about your contact information, and it's optional to list a speaker fee. Members and non-members can search the directory for potential presenters.

One WNA Member's Story
As a member of our District's program planning committee, I was browsing through the WNA Speaker's Directory. I discovered that one of our own members, Linda Poirer, RN, MSN, FNP-C was listed under women's health as a speaker on headaches. Several members confirmed that this was an important topic for nurses who treat pain in many settings. Headaches are also part of the personal health experience for many nurses and nursing students. Linda was a warm and dynamic speaker, and the program was one of our best.
I'm glad I consulted the WNA Directory. I decided to list my own name as a speaker on health care reform and universal health care. I conducted research on this topic, and I don't want the findings to be buried in a journal article. I want to talk to people about health care reform. Our research once again confirmed that health care is a major public concern in Wisconsin. Over 70% of survey respondents agreed or strongly agreed that the Wisconsin health care system is in a state of crisis or has major problems. Over 90% of the survey respondents said that it is extremely or very important for Wisconsin to make health care affordable and accessible for all. The rising cost of health care, and the 47 million Americans without healthcare coverage are no longer acceptable. This is my passion.
