Are you looking to earn CE/Rx credits when it’s convenient for you at a reasonable price? Then check out WNA's on-demand video library of presentations hand-selected by a committee of practicing APRNs knowledgeable about the educational needs of APRNs and RNs in Wisconsin.
We asked the presenters of some of the best sessions offered live at WNA's 40th Annual APRN Pharmacology & Clinical Update to record their presentations to be offered as self-study (on-demand) education programs. These available modules review current and identify new evidence-based pharmacologic and clinical approaches to management of common conditions in primary and acute care, with the goals of safe prescribing practice and optimal therapeutic outcomes. Click on the titles below to find a session description, presenter information, and the number of contact hours (including Rx credit) awarded for each.
The cost is $15.00 for each self study module. Cost includes a CE Certificate documenting the contact hours (including the Rx hours) awarded upon completion of each module’s online evaluation. Payment is by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal. CLICK HERE to ORDER the series!
Upon completion of your order, you will immediately receive a confirmation email for each of the modules ordered containing three links specific to that module – to the video recording, the handout, and the online evaluation. PLEASE SAVE THE CONFIRMATION EMAILS! If it’s been a few minutes and you haven’t received the email(s), please check your spam/trash folders - especially if using a work email address. If you don’t find anything in your spam/trash folder, please contact Bri Clayton at bri@wisconsinnurses.org for assistance.
A few other important points:
- The deadline to view your purchased modules and complete the online evaluation for CE credit is August 31, 2027. The evaluation can be completed right away after viewing the recording or you can complete it later (as long as it’s prior to the deadline). You will not be able to access purchased modules or their evaluations after August 31, 2027.
- A Certificate of Completion documenting the contact hours (including pharmacology/Rx hours) earned for completing a module will be emailed immediately after you “Submit Evaluation.”

Medications for Opioid Use Disorder 101
Medications for Opioid Use Disorder 101
Video duration: __ minutes
1.25 contact hour / .75 Rx
Medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) are supported by SAMHSA, NIDA, the WHO, the CDC, and several other organizations as evidenced-based. Despite being identified as the “gold standard” of care for opioid use disorder, MOUD continues to face stigma around its application and use. This bias, directed at MOUD and programs that utilize it, has slowed the spread and delivery of effective, evidence-based treatment options for opioid use disorder.
This module will explore medications for opioid use disorder, answering questions like "How do these medications work? Why are they necessary? How do they compare to abstinence-based treatment? What is the outcome data? How are these medications different from prescribed opioid pain relievers? What if a patient is pregnant?"
By the end of this presentation, attendees will have a better understanding of the role MOUD plays in the treatment of their patients with opioid use disorder, including its efficacy in addressing the opioid epidemic, why abstinence is not a on-size-fits-all solution, and what medication options are available for patients in their care

The majority of this lecture will focus on evidence-based application of knowledge covering appropriate risk stratification, assessment of medication risk using resources and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic factors, and patient management practice cases.

Drug induced movement disorders are common side effects of psychotropic medications used in the treatment of mental health disorders. This presentation will explore the identification and treatment of acute dystonic reactions, akathisia, drug induced parkinsonism, and tardive dyskinesia. While these movement disorders have traditionally been placed under the umbrella of “Extra Pyramidal Side Effects”, we will cover how they differ from one another and how proper identification drives appropriate treatment decisions including which pharmacological agents are indicated.
