Governor Evers to Sign APRN Modernization Act — A Historic Win for Wisconsin Nurses

We’re thrilled to share a major victory for Wisconsin’s advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs): Governor Tony Evers will sign the APRN Modernization Act (AB 257) into law this Friday, August 8, 2025, at 12:45 pm in the Governor’s Conference Room.

This milestone is the result of years of tireless advocacy and collaboration by nurses across the state—and we couldn’t have done it without the commitment and support of our members. Together, we’ve taken a huge step forward in improving access to care and advancing the nursing profession in Wisconsin.
