Join your WNA colleagues in learning about the results of the 2018 state election and what is on the horizon for the upcoming 2019-2020 legislative biennium. WNA’s contract lobbyist, Forbes McIntosh, will provide the most up-to-date information related to the transition plans for the state legislature and the in-coming Governor. WNA’s top legislative priorities for the biennium will also be presented by Gina Dennik-Champion, WNA Executive Director and lobbyist.

 

Speaker Information:

Gina Dennik-Champion, MSN, RN, MSHA is the chief executive officer of the Wisconsin Nurses Association.  WNA is the association for professional nurses with membership open to any Wisconsin RN.  Gina’s responsibility is to operationalize the mission, goals and strategies of the WNA which include professional nursing practice, education and policy.  She represents WNA on a variety of state agency and key stakeholder advisory councils and coalitions. She is Wisconsin’s only nurse lobbyist.  Gina advocates for the advancement, promotion and protection of nurses which in turn promotes the health of Wisconsin’s residents.

 

 

 


Forbes McIntosh, President of Government Policy Solutions (GPS), has more than 17 years experience providing full-service representation for clients at the state, municipal and county levels of government. Mr. McIntosh advises a wide variety of corporations, industry trade groups and elected officials on public policy and budget issues. Respected for his knowledge of the legislative process and his methods of lobbying by both Democrats and Republicans in the Senate and the Assembly, Mr. McIntosh assists clients by developing strategic plans, creating alliances, establishing personal relationships with key policymakers and directly lobbying Wisconsin’s legislators and state agency officials.
