2021 SCHEDULE AND SESSION DESCRIPTIONS – updated 9/7
WELCOME! from the Consortium of Correctional Healthcare Professionals
Since 1994, a diverse group of professionals has come together for the single purpose of planning a conference to meet the unique learning needs of YOU – the nurses and other personnel delivering healthcare in detention and correctional settings across Wisconsin.
•• To enable registered nurses and other correctional personnel to better
collaborate and utilize new knowledge and skills to improve the mental and
physical health of inmates of adult and juvenile correction and detention facilities
•• To optimize the safety, professional satisfaction, and personal resilience of all personnel delivering healthcare in a challenging environment.
Registered nurses, physicians, counselors, social workers, administrators, and security personnel employed in correctional and detention facilities or health departments.
Handouts received from presenters will be posted here about 1 week before conference and will be available for 6 months following conference. No hardcopies of handouts will be provided at conference, so download/print these as you wish.
Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, WNA expects all participants and exhibitors to comply with the current State mandate regarding PPE and social distancing. Furthermore, WNA requests that you consider protection for yourself and others when attending this event.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
11.0 contact hours of continuing education credit are available for the 2021 conference.
•• NCPD credit for nurses and other healthcare professionals
•• LESB recertification training credits for law enforcement, jail, and juvenile detention officers
•• NCCHP recertification CE hours for CCHPs
Participants must complete the online conference evaluation by October 20, 2021 in order to generate a certificate to document their attendance and CE contact hours earned. There will be a $25 charge for the WNA office to provide access to the online evaluation after this date.
