The Assembly Health, Aging and Long-Term Care Committee recently held a hearing on AB 294, a bill that would reserve two of the five RN seats on the Wisconsin Board of Nursing for a Nurse Educator and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
The Wisconsin Nurses Association (WNA) strongly supports the inclusion of these roles, given the urgent need to grow and support Wisconsin’s nursing workforce.
A big thank you to WNA member Mary Beck Metzger, FNP, APNP, and WNA Lobbyist Peter Welch for delivering testimony in support of the bill. We’re pleased to report there was no opposition to AB 294 during the hearing.
